Odessa - You can donate blood in a total time of one hour and possible save three lives by doing it. This month is National Blood Month and the Permian Basin needs your contribution. Levi Stone, Chief Nursing Officer for Odessa Regional Medical Center, told CBS 7 Closer Look, "we've got an inventory right now, but one emergency or a complicated surgery would put us in a critical situation." Stone also is asking local businesses and churches to open their doors and have blood drives at their own locations. Stone stressed that it only takes an hour to donate and you literally can save some one's life. Blood donations are used to help those with trauma injuries, surgery needs, neonatal and pediatric problems, cancer and anemia. You can donate by calling 561-5539.
