Shelter in Place For One Elementary School After False Report Made 1/28/13

CBS 7 Newsroom
January 28, 2013

UPDATE 9am***
Press Release - At around 7:00 A.M. the Odessa Police Department received a 911 call saying there were several people with guns outside of Gale Pond/Alamo elementary school. OPD and ECISD police responded to the call; they put the school in shelter-in-place and searched the school and the grounds and found no one. It appears to have been a false report. Police kept the school in shelter-in-place during the morning drop off and will leave officers at the campus throughout the morning.

As a reminder, a shelter-in-place is a precaution; the outside entrances to the school are locked and monitored but inside activities go on as normal.
