SAN ANTONIO - Two instructors at a San Antonio air force base that
provides basic training for the Air Force will be court-martialed on charges
arising from a sex scandal.
Staff Sgt. Eddy Soto and Staff Sgt. Donald Davis have been scheduled for
separate military trials to begin Jan. 28 at Lackland Air Force Base in San
Antonio.
Soto is accused of adultery, having unprofessional relationships with a
trainee and a trainee's spouse and making a false official statement. Davis is
charged with abusive sexual contact, assault and battery and having a sexual
relationship with a trainee.
In all, 32 basic-training instructors have been under investigation at
Lackland, with six being convicted of misconduct. Investigators say more than 40
women at Lackland had inappropriate contact with instructors or were sexually
harassed or raped.
