Big Spring - Political in Big Spring will have the chance to toss their hats in the ring for municipal elections slated for May 11.
Seats held by Mayor Tommy Duncan and District 5 Councilman Craig Olson will be up for grabs. The first day to file to run in all municipal elections is Jan. 30.
Those looking to get a jump on the filing process can download applications and necessary forms from the Texas Secretary of State website, located at www.sos.state.tx.us
Political hopefuls can also pick up 2013 filing packets from city hall starting Jan. 30.
Filing for the election is being handled by the city of Big Spring Administration, while the election itself will once again be coordinated by the Howard County Elections Administration Office.
