Truck Smashes into Overpass - Odessa 1/20/13 UPDATE: 6:40pm

Faudree and Hwy 191 are back open, as a covering has been placed over the damaged area on the overpass.
This is the 3rd crash involving a truck and an overpass bridge over the past couple of months.
One bridge was also damaged last summer at 385 amd Hwy 158 north of Odessa.
That bridge still hasn't been repaired.

Tx-Dot informs us that the Eastbound shoulder of 191 is closed at Faudree Road. Faudree is open.

UPDATE: 12:07 PM
This wreck happened a little after 8 this morning involving an 18-wheeler from a company called Triple H.
In a phone interview, Tx-Dot told CBS 7 News that they have followed all safety measures to ensure the bridge doesn't give way.
For the momen, Tx-Dot is securing the beam, and they tell us that they may open the intersection in time for the Monday morning rush.

Odessa - TxDot has closed northbound Faudree Lane and limited Highway 191 eastbound to one lane after a truck hit the overpass.
