"I Have A Dream" Night - Texas Civil Rights Project Gala 1/19/13

ODESSA - Members promoting equality for the disable and civil rights gathered tonight in celebration of Martin Luther King Day.
Civil Right’s leaders from Austin and Houston came to Odessa to urge minorities to act upon Dr. King’s Dream of equal rights.
At the event was Houston’s Civil Rights Leader, Reverend William Lawson who was influenced by the Equal Right’s Era since day one.
"I think that why it's easy to be spoiled because we don't have the challenges that our parents & grandparents had. It is necessary that we should realize that what they fought for is still has to be carried on," said Dr. Lawson.
The group of leaders were happy to see members of different race embrace each other and celebrate equality. Some participants were awarded for their involvement in protecting and promoting disability, equality and domestic violence rights in West Texas.
