Houston-Area Man Gets 45 Years in Child Porn Cases 1/18/13

HOUSTON - A Houston-area man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison
in a child pornography investigation in which he described himself as a
"monster."
A federal judge in Houston on Thursday afternoon sentenced 37-year-old D.J.
Christopher Lowe, who in 2011 pleaded guilty to possession, distribution and
production of child pornography. Investigators say Lowe exploited six children,
including a toddler.
Prosecutors say Lowe spoke at the court hearing and called himself a
"monster" in cases going back to 2009.
Lowe's activities were discovered in an investigation into online chats and
images involving a man in Italy. That led to Lowe's home being raided in August
2010. Investigators located more than 17,000 images and hundreds of videos of
child pornography.
Further details on the investigation in Italy weren't immediately available.
