NEW YORK - Stocks are slipping in midday trading on Wall Street after a mixed batch of earnings reports from big U.S. companies left investors uninspired.
Intel and Capital One Financial fell sharply after reporting earnings that disappointed the market. Intel fell 7 percent, Capital One 8 percent. Morgan Stanley and General Electric rose after their results beat Wall Street's estimates.
The Dow and the S&P 500 index are still on track to post a third straight week of gains.
