Press Release: Odessa Shooting Sends One To The Hospital 1/18/13

Odessa Tx. - Yesterday evening the Odessa Police Department responded to a call of a disturbance in the 900 block of Snyder. It was reported that there was a large group of subjects possibly armed with guns.
Shortly thereafter officers received a call of shots fired from the 400 block of Seminole. When officers arrived everyone involved in the disturbance were gone.
While officers were investigating, they received a call of a gunshot victim who showed up at Medical Center Hospital. Officers made contact with the victim, Niguel Johnson, 22 years of age, reported to officers that he was playing basketball in the 400 block of Seminole when a black Ford pick-up drove by and shots were fired.
Johnson reported he was struck in the forearm by a bullet. He was transported to Medical Center Hospital by a family member. Johnson was treated for a non life threatening injury.
A red suv was reportedly seen leaving the area during the disturbance. Anyone with information about the incident and the subjects involved are asked to call Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS.
