AUSTIN, Texas - University of Texas women's track strength coach
Michelle Freeman has been named interim assistant coach.
Interim head coach Rose Brimmer made the announcement Wednesday. Freeman has
been strength coach for five months after previously serving as a volunteer
assistant coach in Austin.
Freeman is a former University of Florida track standout and a longtime
associate of UT women's track coach Bev Kearney.
Kearney resigned Jan. 5 after being put on paid leave in November. Kearney
acknowledged, in an interview with the Austin American-Statesman, that she had
an intimate relationship with an athlete in her program in 2002.
