Press Release
January 16, 2013

On January 16, 2013 at 4:55 pm, the Andrews County Sheriff’s Office received a call of an industrial accident at a location about 17 miles East of Andrews at a drilling rig owned by Patterson Drilling. Andrews County Sheriff’s Deputies, Andrews EMS, and Andrews Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene and found a 38 year-old El Paso man with injuries to his lower right leg. The injury was caused when a pipe rack that was being moved shifted and fell onto the man’s leg. Due to the remote location, the man was airlifted to Odessa Medical Center for treatment.

The victim’s name is being withheld until all proper notifications have been made.
