UPDATE 9:23 AM Missing Man Found on Big Spring Street in Midland 1/15/13

The Midland man who went missing Tuesday evening has been found.
Midland Police located 80-year-old Jose Borunda at the Stripes Convenience Store located at 4508 N. Big Spring St. after receiving a call in regard to his whereabouts at approximately 8:40 a.m.
Borunda was found in good condition and transported to Midland Memorial Hospital as a precautionary measure.
The Midland Police Department began the search for Borunda on Tuesday after he was last seen walking west on Neely Avenue from the Ashton Way Apartments at approximately 8 p.m. Borunda suffers from Alzheimer’s and does not speak English.
Police searched throughout the night and early morning for Borunda, working off several tips that he had been seen in the northwest area of Midland. The Department received assistance from Texas Department of Criminal Justice bloodhounds and Department of Public Safety helicopters during the search.
Due to information officials received that Borunda was prone to accepting rides from strangers, a Silver Alert was issued statewide and Border Control was notified.

Midland city officials tell CBS 7 that missing elderly man Jose Borunda has been found in good condition this morning.
They say he was located in Midland around 8:30am.

The search for missing 80-year-old man Jose Borunda has gone state-wide according to Midland Police officials.
They tell us a Silver Alert has been issued state-wide for the man. Regional law enforcement along with the Border Patrol have also been notified.
The DPS helicopter and blood hound search teams have gone in until daylight.

(Midland)- Attempt to Locate
The Midland Police Department is currently trying to locate 80-year-old Jose Borunda.
He was last seen walking west on Neely Avenue from the Ashton Way Apartments today at approximately 8 p.m.
He is a 5'9" Hispanic male weighing between 160 and 170 lbs and was wearing a white cowboy hat, blue jeans, blue jacket and brown shoes.
Borunda suffers from Alzheimer's and does not speak English.
He reportedly has no other family members or associates within Midland except for those with whom he resides at the Ashton Way complex.
