Big Spring - Just about any kind of person has been in the back seat of a Howard County Sheriff's car on their way to jail.

"You see a little everything honestly," Howard County Sheriff Stan Parker said.

He says their inmates are behind bars for multiple reasons.

"The majority of them have a drug and alcohol problem," he said. "A lot of them are repeat and then you have some that are new."

It's the newest offenders that Sheriff Parker says will surprise you.

"With what we have going with the oil boom, we have a lot of new ones," he said.

The majority of these people from the oil field are getting booked for having a little too much fun.

"They get paid, go out, have a good time and some of them have too good of a time," Sheriff Parker said. "If you've been out and had too much to drink or whatever and you come into contact with us, it's never a positive contact."

It's a packed house inside the jail, but Sheriff Parker says they always have room for anyone who breaks the law.
