The Midland Police Department responded to a fatal accident at approximately 5:52 p.m. near the intersection of Midland Drive and Sinclair Avenue.
Jesse Kinsey, 23, of Midland, was headed southbound on Midland Drive on a motorcycle when he collided with a Chevy Silverado that was headed northbound. The truck's female driver had been trying to turn west into an apartment complex at the time of the collision. Kinsey was pronounced dead at the scene, and the truck driver had no injuries.
Witnesses said Kinsey had been driving recklessly, and the damage caused by the impact indicated he was traveling at speeds faster than the posted speed limit. Kinsey was wearing a helmet, and a toxicology report is pending.
No charges will be filed as a result of the accident.
