Odessa – An Odessa man is in the Ector County Jail today after he reportedly confessed Saturday to killing a man who has been reported as missing since 2008.
29-year-old, Jesus Miguel Venegas was charged with murder in connection to the disappearance of 36-year-old, Rene Escobar Sanchez back in 2008.
Odessa Police originally pulled Venegas over Saturday for a traffic violation and he was later arrested for driving with an invalid license, a class ‘B’ misdemeanor, according to the Odessa American.
Venegas told law enforcement officials he wanted to talk to detectives about the disappearance of Sanchez, who was last seen on July 12, 2008.
After waiving his Miranda warning, Venegas then confessed to killing the man.
Sanchez was initially reported missing on July 15, 2008 by his wife Ester Armendariz who reported to the police department she last saw her husband at 11 p.m. when he left his residence to drink.
