CORPUS CHRISTI - Ten suspected illegal immigrants are in custody
after a van they were riding in crashed into a mobile home along Texas' Gulf
Coast.
Corpus Christi Police spokesman Lt. Israel Soza says officers and Nueces
County sheriff's deputies pursued the van early Saturday morning. It ran through several traffic lights before crashing into the home.
Soza tells the Corpus Christi Caller-Times (http://bit.ly/SdzZNc ) that
about a dozen suspected immigrants ran from the van. Authorities caught 10 and
turned them over to the U.S. Border Patrol.
Soza says no one inside the mobile home was injured. Two of those detained
from the vehicle had minor injuries.
Border Patrol did not immediately respond to a call for comment Sunday from The Associated Press.
