Snow is now sticking to the roadway on Highway 18, and the road is becoming very slick.
UPDATE: 10:17 AM
Our crew is on Highway 18 between Grandfalls and Fort Stockton. They say the snow is coming down, but the road is still drivable as the snow is not sticking.

We have reports of heavy snow in Rankin, McCamey, and Crane. A light dusting of snow has begun here at the CBS 7 studios.

An extensive period of wintry weather will affect West Texas and Southeast New Mexico for the next 36 to 48 hours. There is a winter weather advisory for the Permian Basin starting midnight until 6am Friday morning. A winter storm warning is in effect from midnight until 6am Friday morning for Reeves, Pecos, Brewster, Presidio, Jeff Davis, Culberson counties in Texas, & Eddy county in Southeast New Mexico. 4 to 8 inches of snow with isolated amounts of 10 inches possible in the warned area.
