Another day of cold temperatures is in store today. However, the overall weather pattern suggests the calm before the storm could be the story this afternoon. Look for highs in the 40’s with calm winds most of the day.
Clouds will increase across the area this evening as an upper level storm approaches from the west. Precipitation in the form of snow will begin to impact the mountains of West Texas by sunrise, Thursday morning. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for the higher elevations.
Snow chances will spread eastward across the remainder of the region on Thursday and Friday. Locations in the mountains will see snow totals of 4-6” with isolated higher amounts. Locations in the adjacent plains will pick up 1-3” with isolated higher amounts.
Highs will be in the 30’s and 40’s on Thursday and Friday.
Temperatures will rebound into the 50’s this weekend under sunny skies.
