Woman Will Not be Charged in Killing of Boyfriend 12/30/12

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - A grand jury in Texas has decided charges should not be brought against a woman who fatally shot her boyfriend.

The Travis County grand jury returned a no bill last week for 43-year-old Lilah Moffett of Elgin. Moffett had never been arrested for the October 16th shooting of 34-year-old Billy Hysinger.

Moffett's attorney, Ben Florey, said Friday that his client had defended herself and her two sons in a violent fight started by Hysinger.

Florey said Hysinger threatened to kill everyone at the home of one of her son's if Moffett didn't come with him. He said she was badly beaten when she walked into the sheriff's office with the gun to tell them what had happened.
