UPDATE Medical Helicopter Crash in Big Lake Injures Nurse 12/29/12

UPDATE
BIG LAKE, TX - The aircraft is a 1997 rotorcraft bell owned by MedTran Corporation. The pilot, 47-year-old Daniel Beauchamp, two nurses and a patient were on the helicopter. One nurse was injured during the landing. She is 47-year-old Beth Cooper from San Antonio. Cooper was transported to Midland Memorial in stable condition.
According to San Angelo DPS, the crew was transporting a patient from Fort Stockton to San Angelo at the time of the incident.
They consider this to be a hard landing, not a crash. The only injury was to the nurse. Currently the FAA is handing the investigation.
BIG LAKE, TX - According to The Big Lake Wildcat, a medical helicopter crashed approximately at noon today at Reagan County's airport.
The paper states the cause of the crash was mechanical failure.
So far no injuries have been reported and a full investigation is underway.
