New Outdoor Watering Schedule in Midland 12/28/12

City of Midland
December 28, 2012

Midland - A new outdoor watering schedule that will allow residents and businesses in the City of Midland to water twice per week will take effect on Jan. 1, 2013.

Even numbered addresses may water outdoors on Saturdays and Wednesdays from 6 p.m. until midnight.

Odd numbered addresses may water outdoors on Fridays and Tuesdays from 6 p.m. until midnight.

Under the current outdoor watering program, residents and businesses have been allowed to water outdoors once per week for a two-hour time period between 6 p.m. and midnight as outlined in the city’s Drought Contingency Plan.

Outdoor watering has been based on residents' physical addresses by dividing the city into six zones.

The new schedule was approved by City Manager Courtney Sharp and is a result of increased water availability and the lifting of restrictions by the Colorado River Municipal Water District.

City officials ask that residents continue their dedication to practicing mindful watering habits and conservation techniques.
