DALLAS (AP) - Strong winds have left nearly 28,000 homes and businesses in North Texas without power.
Crews with Dallas-based Oncor (ON'-kor) worked Thursday to restore electricity. Thunderstorms that blew through the Dallas area on Wednesday night led to downed power lines and broken tree branches.
Officials say a dust storm Wednesday afternoon in West Texas triggered traffic accidents on Interstate 27 north of Lubbock that left one traveler dead and at least 17 hurt.
