It’s the time of year when families take time to decorate their homes for the holiday season.

But if you have wreaths, reindeer or candy canes in your front yard, you may want to keep an extra eye on them.

Local Grinches are visiting homes in the area, and are stealing Christmas decorations.

Recently, CBS 7 had two Facebook posts that claimed Christmas decorations were stolen.

Some thieves were caught in the act by home surveillance.

One family in Odessa is missing their baby Jesus from their outdoor Nativity scene, and they are demanding He be returned.

Not only will these thieves receive coal in their stockings, but also if caught by police they will face theft charges.

Midland Police said thieves could be charged up to a Class A misdemeanor depending on the value of the decorations.

Midland Police said stolen Christmas decorations or vandalism should be reported to police.
