Odessa – The Ector County Health Dept. and Medical Center Hospital are coming together to make health care more affordable.
The ECHD says the state applied for the Medicaid 1115 waiver that makes health care more affordable for Medicaid patients.
Medical Center Hospital and ECHD are in the process of creating a diabetes program. Officials with the ECHD say they will go out in the community to provide screening and education about diabetes.
They say if someone tests positive for diabetes, they will refer them to a specialist.
