UTPB's Teisha King Named Heartland Conference Player of the Week 12/3/12

Senior guard Teisha King was named Heartland Conference women's basketball Player of the Week Monday, the conference announced.
King earned her third straight weekly player of the week selection by averaging 23.5 points and eight rebounds in a pair of wins over Wayland Baptist and Oklahoma Christian.
She led all players with 20 points in the Falcons 66-64 win over the Fighting Queens, grabbing eight rebounds while recording a season-high five steals.
King came back two days later and hit 10-of-18 shots from the field while making 6-of-7 free throws to score a game-high 27 points in a 79-75 overtime win over Oklahoma Christian. She led all players with five points in the extra session and scored 21 of her points after halftime.
She now leads the Heartland Conference in scoring, averaging 20.6 points per game through eight games this season.
