Mother Begs for Help in Fort Worth Area Car Crash 11/18/12

Associated Press
November 18, 2012

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A mother is heard on a 911 tape released by police begging rescuers to break the windows of her car moments before the vehicle became submerged in a Fort Worth-area pond.

The car sank Thursday, trapping 36-year-old Christina Williams and her 22-month-old daughter, Tisiphone Rose Williams, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Saturday. Fort Worth firefighters and divers rescued them, but both died.

"Break the glass, break the glass, break the glass, break the glass," Williams is heard screaming on the 911 recording as two men pounded on the windows. John Piszor told the Star-Telegram he was unable to break the glass before the car sank.

The newspaper reports Williams was on her cell phone and ran a stop sign, crashing through an iron fence and into the pond.
