Odessa - The Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo were on the look out for new ambassadors for the upcoming rodeo.
Today was the Sandhills Stock Show and Rodeo Queen Pageant.
The pageant promotes the sport of rodeo for women and includes horsemanship, speech and modeling.
Organizers say holding a rodeo title is a good stepping stone for their future.
"They receive scholarships to go on to college. It helps them move on with their lives. It's a good stepping stone," Kevin Evans, VP of the Rodeo said.
Today was the speech and modeling competition at the FUNdome.
Our very own Jay Hendricks was the emcee.
