Petraeus Undergoes Benghazi Questioning
November 16, 2012
WASHINGTON - Lawmakers are getting a chance to grill former CIA Director David Petraeus about the September attack on the U.S. Consultate in Benghazi, Libya that killed the American ambassador and three others.
Republicans and some Democrats have demanded an explanation of why the administration initially said the attack stemmed from a protest over an anti-Muslim video. Some are accusing the White House of deliberately misleading the American public about the nature of the attack.
Petraeus was sneaked into the Capitol building for today's hearing through a network of underground hallways, out of the view of photographers and TV cameras.
Meanwhile, Petreaus is under investigation by the CIA after his resignation over an extramarital affair.
