ECISD Officials Confiscate Gun From Goliad Student 11/15/12

ODESSA, TX – A gun has been confiscated from a student at Goliad Elementary School. ECISD officials tell CBS 7 a 9-year-old student brought the gun to school in his backpack this morning. School officials quickly secured the weapon after hearing reports from students.
According to ECISD, because of the child’s age, no criminal charges can be filed but the student will be disciplined according to Student Code Conduct. ECISD Police are currently investigating reports that the student fired the gun prior to arriving at school, they are also investigating how the student got a hold of the gun.
