BREAKING NEWS: Jury Finds James Burwell Guilty on Captial Murder Charges 11/8/12

Ector County District Attorney, Bobby Bland, issued the following statement:

Today, James Doyle Burwell was convicted of three (3) counts for the 2011 capital murders of Richard “Dick” Jess Glover and Peggy Colleene Glover. The Jury returned its verdict after 35 minutes.

The Judge sentenced him to life in prison without parole. Ector County District Attorney, Bobby Bland, personally prosecuted this case. He was assisted by Linda Deaderick. The defense Attorney was Ray Keith.

District Attorney, Bobby Bland, stated, “We appreciate the quick verdict of the jury. This was truly a reprehensible crime, and we are glad that James Burwell was held responsible for it. Mr. Burwell will die in prison, and he deserves nothing less. I hope that this verdict provides a sense of justice for the family of Dick and Peggy Glover.

The jury finds James Burwell Guilty on 3 counts of Capital Murder.

Burwell will automatically be sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Burwell was convicted for the stabbing deaths of Dick and Peggy Glover back in May 2011.

According to the Odessa American, the defense has rested in the murder trial for James Burwell. The case is now in the hands of the jury.

Burwell is accused of fatally stabbing Dick and Peggy Glover in their Odessa home.
