FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A woman who gained notoriety for accumulating the most violations on North Texas' toll roads has agreed to settle her account.
A spokesman for the North Texas Tollway Authority says that Amber Young of Dallas will pay $28,684 to settle her $182,598 tab. The amount covers 8,516 in unpaid tolls as well as fees and administrative costs.
Michael Rey tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that Young has agreed to make an initial payment of $5,000 and then $250 in monthly installments. If she defaults, she will owe the full amount.
Attempts by The Associated Press and other news organizations to contact Young have proved unsuccessful since she was identified in July as the authority's most egregious scofflaw.
The authority has used an all-electronic system since 2010.
