Near Record Heat Today 11/2/12
Friday Weather Update
Greg Morgan – Chief Meteorologist
Sunny skies and very warm temperatures are on tap for today. Highs will reach into the mid 80’s across much of the region. The record high for the today was 85, set in 1946. I expect us to tie if not break the record today. Look for south winds at 10-15mph.
A cold front will push into the Permian Basin on Saturday. This will bring cooler air back to the Basin. In addition, a few thunderstorms are expected to develop along the front. However, these storms will be few and far between.
Storm systems will continue passing to our north. Each will bring a shot of cooler air into the Basin through early next week. It appears that highs will be in the 70’s and lows will be in the 40’s and 50’s through next Thursday.
