One Dead, One Injured In Howard County Shooting 10/27/12

HOWARD CO, TX – One man is dead and another is injured after a shooting in the parking lot of the old VFW building in Big Spring.
This morning around 2:33am, deputies with the Howard County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 500 Driver Rd .in Big Spring at the old VFW in reference to a possible shooting.
Upon arrival deputies found 33-year-old Luis Adolfo Pena in the parking lot suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Pena was transported to Scenic Mountain Medical Center by EMS. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
A second shooting victim, 33- year-old Raul Mendez was transported to Scenic Mountain Medical Center by private vehicle. Mendez was treated for his wounds and later released.
Justice of The Peace Kathryn Wiseman ordered an autopsy on Pena’s body. The autopsy will take place in Lubbock.
Howard County Sheriff’s office are still investigating the case, no arrests have been made at this time.
