ODESSA- A plane lands safely in the Odessa-Schlemeyer Field after a quick layover on 87th Street in Odessa earlier today.
Officials said the plane was coming from Arizona heading to the airport when the plane ran out of fuel and had to make an emergency landing.
The plane was a 1959 Piper Comanche 250 that had an inaccurate fuel gage.
Odessa police had the streets cleared in order to re-fuel the plane and secure a safe take off for the airport.
CBS 7 tried to speak to the pilot, but he did not want to comment.
Despite the scare, officials said the pilot took all the precautions needed to land safely on the street.
