Former President, Bill Clinton, encouraged an enthusiastic crowd in San Antonio to support President Barack Obama and two congressional candidates including one from West Texas.
Pete Gallego from Alpine is running for the 23rd Congressional District against Republican U.S. Representative, Francisco Canseco.
At the rally, Clinton spoke about the Tea Party's aggressive campaign against Gallego and encouraged voters to vote for Gallego.
Clinton says, “They always say they represent the original intent of the framers of the constitution. They would be appalled by anybody trying to use any religious image to advance a particular candidate. Nobody owns God. Nobody owns the flag. Nobody owns love for America. The question is who’s right, and who’s wrong. Pete Gallego is right for San Antonio and for America and for the future of this country.”
Clinton also spoke about Joaquin Castro, the twin brother of San Antonio Mayor, Julian Castro.
He is running for the 20th congressional district.
