Thursday Morning Weather Update 10/25/12

Big changes are in store for the Permian Basin today. A cold front moved into the area this morning, producing strong north winds and a spectacular roll cloud. Temperatures will top out in the lower to mid 70’s today. However, this high will occur around noon and temperatures will then drop through the rest of the day. Expect temperatures to be in the 50’s and 60’s later this evening and drop into the 40’s tonight.
Friday will be much cooler. Expect highs in the upper 40’s under mostly cloudy skies. Some light rain might develop across parts of the area. However, rain totals will be small and rain should be hit or miss.
Skies will begin to clear around midnight Saturday morning. As skies clear, temperatures will drop fast and by 6am Saturday, temperatures will be in the lower to mid 30’s across the Permian Basin. Some locations could see a light freeze.
Highs will rebound into the 50’s on Saturday, 60’s on Sunday and 70’s early next week.
Halloween looks to be fairly nice this year.
