Midland, TX - A group of Hispanic voters are speaking out against the Midland ISD school bond.
The group says the district overlooked the need for a new south side elementary school but MISD administration says that's not true.
Superintendent Dr. Ryder Warren says the former Bunche Early Childhood Center will be turned into a new school for the south side.
He also explains that if the bond passes $8 million will be used to renovate the south side elementary schools, put in new playground equipment and even technology updates for the schools.
Warren says the reason the 2 brand new schools proposed in the bond would be built on the west side of town is because nearly 95% of new development in Midland is going to be in that area.
