Odessa Police have arrested the driver of the white Saturn Vue that struck and killed 24 year-old Jorge Chavira early this morning.
22 year-old Edgar Marquez Valenzuela of Odessa is charged with failure to stop and render aid, felony 3rd degree.
Valenzuela turned himself in to the Odessa Police Department. He was subsequently charged and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.

Odessa, TX - A man was hit and killed by an SUV early this morning.
According to our crews on the scene early this morning, it happened around 2:15 am on the 100 block of East 42nd St. near Cheddars Restaurant in Odessa.
Odessa Police say the man was reportedly standing in the center lane of 42nd St, entering his car in the east bound lane when the SUV hit him. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The victim is identified as a 24 year-old Hispanic man, no other details have been released.
The SUV fled the scene and police are currently looking for that driver. The vehicle is a white Saturn SUV.
The identity of the pedestrian is currently being withheld until police notify next of kin.
