Midland, TX - A major building project is underway in Midland.
EZ Rider officials say it's something they have been talking about for years now: a facility that will serve as a "hub" for transportation in West Texas.
Thanks to funding from the Texas Department of Transportation, phase one is now in the beginning stages.
EZ Rider officials say this will make it easier for travelers to make it from one spot to the next, especially as more people come through the area during the oil boom.
"A lot of people pass through this area going east to west or even north to Lubbock, so it will be a good spot for people to come here as they make their connections and ties to other modes of transportation," explains Alonda Massey with EZ Rider.
EZ Rider has also been in talks with Greyhound transportation officials about working together out of the facility.
Massey expects phase one of the multi model facility to be complete in May.
The cost is $4.4 million for phase one, all of the money comes from federal dollars.
