NHL: Hopes For Full Season Fading 10/19/12

The NHL and the players' association agree on one thing: Thursday was a bad day at the negotiating table.
Any optimism that existed following the NHL's offer earlier this week of a 50-50 split of hockey-related revenue was quickly dashed when the union countered with three proposals that were quickly rebuffed.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman says of the three counterproposals from the players' association, "It's clear we're not speaking the same language."
No new talks have been scheduled, and the possibility of a full hockey regular season is quickly shrinking.
