Pakistan Sends Teen Shot by Taliban to UK for Treatment 10/15/12

Islamabad - A Pakistani teen shot in the head last week by the Taliban for advocating education of girls is on her way to Birmingham, England, for treatment and specialized care.
She's aboard a specialized ambulance that has made a stop in the United Arab Emirates, which provided the aircraft. Moving her also protects her from follow-up attacks threatened by the militants.
The attack on Malala Yousufzai who is 14, has horrified people both across the country and abroad. It has also sparked hope the government will respond by intensifying its fight against the Taliban and their allies.
The Pakistani ambassador to the UAE says the girl appeared to be in stable condition.
Meanwhile, officials in the northwest city of Peshawar say 100 Taliban militants attacked a nearby police station. Police say six policemen were killed during the clash, including two who were beheaded.
