ECTOR COUNTY, TEXAS - Neglected horses and vicious dogs have made headlines across Ector County and many are asking who's responsible for animal control. Ector County Judge Susan Redford tells CBS 7 the county has a inter-local agreement with the City of Odessa to handle animal control in the county.
Judge Redford says the growing population is putting more strain on animal control and the county is exploring ways to help out.
"For what we pay them, they do all hey can, what we need to do is find ways to tighten our control on wild game and lose animals within the county, to give them some relief," said Susan Redford, Ector County Judge
Judge Redford says Odessa's animal control serves a county that is 900 square miles.
