(Odessa)- The Professional Standards Unit of the Odessa Police Department received a complaint from a citizen alleging an assault by a public servant employed with the Odessa Police Department.
After reviewing it, the complaint was turned over to the Crime Against Person Unit.
A subsequent investigation into the complaint led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Mark Anthony Luna, DOB, 03-28-1973 charging him with assault, class ‘A’ misdemeanor, family violence.
On Thursday, October 11, 2012, at approximately 1520 hours, Mark Anthony Luna turned himself in to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
This case has been turned over to the Ector County Attorney’s Office.
Mark Luna has resigned from the Odessa Police Department.
Mark Luna was hired by the Odessa Police Department in February of 2007 as an Animal Control Officer. He was promoted to Police Officer in February of 2010.
