City of Midland: Parks and Recreation Updating their Master Plan 10/9/12

The Midland Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with KDC Associates, are in the process of updating our "Parks and Recreation Master Plan for 2012-2017". The reason for such a plan is to state the goals and objectives derived from public demand which was collected from a city-wide survey. As we look back on our proposed plan in 2006, we realize that most of those objectives have been met and even exceeded. The goals in the upcoming plan will focus on new and current objectives such as:
Further Development and Marketing for Midland's Hike and Bike trails
An increase in methods of water conservation for our parks
Future Neighborhood Park Developments outside of Loop 250
Investigate the possibility of Senior Centers for the city.
The new proposed plan will be brought to Council in November of 2012.
