Odessa, TX - An overnight kidnapping has many West Texans asking why an Amber Alert was never issued.

The Ector County Sheriff's Office says an Alert was issued. They claim they notified DPS officials at 2:54 AM but local media outlets were never made aware of the Amber Alert.

A press release from the Sheriff's Office says the child went missing at 7:30 PM Monday and was found in Big Spring at 3:12 AM.

We are now working with the Sheriff's Office and DPS to get answers. Stay with CBS 7 for more in this developing story.
