AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Utility officials say a water main break in Austin has caused part of a street to collapse and cracked sections of pavement.
Authorities say the damage to York Boulevard in northwest Austin was discovered Monday morning.
Austin water utility spokeswoman Jill Mayfield says the road has been closed for the repairs. Some water outages were reported in the neighborhood as the line was shut down.
Officials are trying to determine what caused the water line break.
A cold front moved through the Austin area over the weekend. The National Weather Service says temperatures early Monday were in the low 50s in Austin.
