Sunny And Warm Today 10/03/12

Wednesday Morning Weather Update
Greg Morgan – Chief Meteorologist

Sunny skies and the warmest temperatures of the week are expected today. Look for highs around 90 for much of the Permian Basin. Mid 90’s are expected in the usual hot spots. Mid 80’s are expected in the mountains. Wind will be out of the SSW at 10-20mph.

A series of cold fronts will impact the area through the weekend. The first will arrive on Thursday morning. This front looks to come through the area dry. However, winds will increase behind the front to 15-25mph. High temperatures will stall around 80 Thursday afternoon.

Friday will see pleasant conditions as temperatures rebound after Thursday’s front. Expect highs in the upper 80’s under mostly sunny skies.

The strongest front will arrive early Saturday morning. Temperatures will stall in the upper 50’s as this front moves through. There will be a chance of rain along and behind the front Saturday into Sunday morning. However, the rain should be light and more of a drizzle. Overnight lows will drop into the lower 40’s on Saturday night. Sunday’s high might even be a few degrees cooler than Saturdays (mid 50’s).

Temperatures will increase and clouds will decrease early next week. Another storm system is set to impact the area the middle and late part of next week.
