UPDATE: 5PM
MISD Police, Midland PD and Midland College PD all worked together today and according to MISD Chief of Operations Doctor Randy Baiza, the campuses will remain on lock down until further notice.
Baiza tells CBS 7 that law enforcement are on the lookout for the suspect who allegedly sent the message. Classes at both campuses will resume tomorrow on a quote "heightened alert."

UPDATE 1:52 - MISD Superintendent Ryder Warren has released the following statement regarding the lockdown at Coleman High School that has now extended to the Advance Technology Center at Midland College:
"As most of you know, we've been dealing with an issue today. This morning, a Coleman High School student received a perceived threatening text message from an adult acquaintance. Because of the content of the message, we made the decision to place Coleman HS in lockdown. Also, this student attends classes in the afternoon at our Advanced Technology Center (ATC), so we worked with administrators at Midland College and also placed it in a lockdown situation.
I want to hold up the efforts of our staff members at Coleman, as well as the staff at ATC for acting professionally today to make sure our kids remained safe. I also want to recognize the efforts of Midland ISD's PD, Midland PD, and Midland College PD - they all worked together today to support our campuses and our children.
We are going to maintain security at both campuses throughout the day (and longer if needed)."

No official cause has been released at this time.
There were reports that Midland High School was under lockdown earlier today but MISD officials tell us that report is false. A life skills student was missing but has since been found on the campus.
