MIDLAND, TX - A project year's in the making is finally moving forward. Advocates for the expansion of Highway 349 between Lamesa and Midland are very pleased to see that they are voices are being heard. One of those advocates is Jami Owen, who lossed her husband in a wreck on 349 just a few years ago. Owen says it was a community effort that took lots of hard work to get the project off the ground.
"That's my message, if there's something that needs to be changed, its in your power to do that," said Jami Owen, Advocate for expansion.
Tx DOT is expanding Highway 349 from 2 to 4 lanes and expanding the shoulder.
