Stocks Remain Lower at Midday 9/28/12

New York, New York - Stocks are lower at midday as they limp to the finish line for the third quarter.
Investors are worried about the health of Spain's financial sector and discouraged that U.S. consumer spending rose last month only because of higher gasoline prices. Spain is set to release stress-test results for 14 banks after European markets close.
Stocks have fallen in six of the last seven trading sessions. Even with the declines, stocks are set to post small gains for the quarter.
